Every worship leader I know who
has a heart for God longs for greater authority that comes when one
knows that issues of personal integrity have been dealt with. There is
an open heart of purity through which comes an unimpeded flow of grace.

In my early 20's
I served as an intern pastor in two different churches where both the
pastors were very gifted. They were skilled teachers and had the
ability to draw large numbers of people through their teaching and
their charismatic personalities. During that time, I wasn't sure what I
was supposed to do with my life. I thought that perhaps I was headed
for full-time ministry. But when I compared myself with these gifted
leaders, I couldn't see how I would "make the grade" in the ministry. I
couldn't see how my particular mix of spiritual gifts would enable me
to excel in pastoral work.

No matter what kind of team,
and for whatever purposes the team exists, (ministry, sports, business,
etc.), individual players are likely to perform better if they receive
encouragement from their leadership. In a worship band, this is often
vital to success. |
