The Love Language of God; Loving God, God's Way

"The Love Language of God
is the fullest treatise on the subject of love that I have ever observed. I believe it will become a recognized resource on the subject. " -Jack Taylor, Dimensions Ministries

Christianity is changing from being task-oriented "doing" to relationship-oriented "being"-becoming the equally yoked companion for the Son of God. A clear image of that loving relationship between Christ and His Bride, the Church, is presented in The Love Language of God for you-and all those who want a closer, more intimate relationship with the Savior. Don't let this intimate relationship with Jesus get lost in the everyday hubbub of life.

Allow me to share a few thoughts related to a trouble area that I have observed as of late, along with a clear path to resolve it. As this is an online article, I will be keeping it concise and to-the-point, without taking the time here to expound (as could easily) be done, or without giving all the support material (that could easily be given). I encourage you to take what I am sharing here and do more research on your own.

Love Wins

(Not All Love Is God's Love)

There is a phrase that is heard more and more in all streams of society, including within the church – Love wins. In a secular context, this means that as long as you love (within a restricted context) that love will eventually win. More on that later.

Even within the church the love wins mantra is commonly used. Author, Rob Bell, popularized it in his book “Love Wins.” But his definition of love and how it wins is a serious deviation from what the Scriptures teach us.

First, let me state emphatically that love is absolutely central to the good news of the gospel of the Bridal paradigm of the Kingdom of God, if for no other reason than Jesus, our Bridegroom, Judge and King, is God and God is love. So, in a sense, yes, Love (the person of God) will win; every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord. But that is a far cry from what society and much of the church world is saying.

So what we have is a crisis within the nation, the church, and the lives of individual believers. Yes, there is much talk about love, tolerance, and acceptance. Yes, there is a call for the “loving” to not judge others. And to the naïve and the uninformed it sounds true and it sounds right, but in reality, it is false and it is destructive. The love of those who are not born of love (Jesus), do not know true love, rather they are deceived by a non-love placebo that means nothing and does nothing. Even professed believers in Jesus are being swept along with the false love that is so common, and in so doing find themselves being pressed into the mold of the world, but only at the cost of abandoning the clear moral standards of the Word of God.

It is not uncommon to hear “believers” in conversation, blogs, social media, and even in many pulpits in our land preaching the un-gospel message, “We aren’t called to judge people, we are just called to love them and accept them as they are; for after all, they will know we are Christians by our love.”

I agree, that as believers we have a heavenly mandate to love people, to be compassionate, to help the poor, the orphans, the sick, the disenfranchised, and the hurting around us. And no, we should not holdback, or withhold our love because they do not believe like us, think like us, or live lifestyles that we, as Christians, do not endorse or support. Most definitely we should be both willing and active in ministering the love of God to all people, regardless of race, gender, nationality, religion, or even sexual preference; but always in the context of the parameters given us in the Word of God, and always in the Name above all names, the Name of Jesus Christ.

You see, today we have a crisis of truth in the pulpits of many churches in our land that in the name of love, tolerance and acceptance, the biblical definition of love is being distorted to the point that it looks nothing like the love we are called to share in Scripture. Biblical love, authentic love can only be expressed and received in the context of the fact that Jesus is God, God is love, and true love is defined only in submission to the Lordship of Christ.

There is no love outside of Jesus, who is the one and only true God, and all other gods are false no-gods and all love that is centered in this fact is a false love. All the world religions are false, there is no other God besides Jesus; no other standard of truth outside of Jesus. Jesus alone defines morality, what is right and what is wrong, what is acceptable and what is not, what love is and isn’t, what is and isn’t a marriage, and life, in our allegiance to Him, we must have a ‘yes’ in our spirit and lives to what He says, and a resounding ‘NO’ to anything that is contrary to the truth (Jesus said, “I am the TRUTH”).

We are living in spiritually perilous times, and it is time for the authentic, apostolic, whole-hearted lovers of Jesus (God) to come out of the closet, as it were, regardless of the possible personal cost, regardless of the arena of popular opinion, and yes, even regardless of the fact that doing so might result in our being persecuted for our stand for the truth.

Jesus is God; God is love; and the only authentic love is within the boundaries of the teachings of the Bible and the resultant lifestyle, which says yes to righteousness, and no to unrighteousness, no to any lifestyle that doesn’t start and end bowing at the foot of the God-Man in obedience and worship.

Then, and only then, love wins!
